What We Believe

New Life Christian Fellowship is in the mainstream of christian belief. 

We accept that the Bible is the Word of God and is our final authority in all matters of belief.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that in his death God paid the penalty for our sins. Because Jesus died, all people who receive the gift of salvation may have eternal life.

We differ from some christians in that we believe that God still works miracles and that the "Gifts of the Holy Spirit" are still available to believers today.

We also believe that the old church structures are no longer effective in our rapidly changing world. Therefore, we have established ourselves as a cell church in which the main focus is in small groups rather than the traditional "large group" model. For more information see Cell Churches

In practice, we are between traditional and Pentecostal churches. We try to make worship contemporary and relevant to ordinary people without watering down what God has said about his nature

We describe ourselves as:
Mission centred: we believe that people who are not christians are more important than those who are!
Evangelical: we believe that the Bible is the infallible word of God..
Charismatic: we believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to achieve God's purposes
All-ages: we believe all of God's people have a role to play in the church, regardless of age, sex, racial origin etc.
Contemporary: we want to use words and music which ordinary people understand and relate to.
