It's Winter But Spring Is Coming

This year winter has been a little strange. After several years of drought we have had a wet winter with milder nights and cooler days. One day in June we had a day when the temperature range was 5- 7 degrees. That is the lowest maximum we have recorded here in 30 years!

Even here, where we have relatively mild winters, the season is for most people the least favourite time of the year.

The good news is this: It's winter, but spring is coming!

Soon the temperatures will start to warm up. The trees that look like dead sticks now will bud and grow. Plants will blossom and crops will grow. 

This all reminds me of the promise that God gives us in Jesus. We were lost in sin with nothing to look forward to but condmenation from God. But Jesus took the fall for us and raised us to eternal life, if only we will receive that gift.

He makes all things new. That is the prmomis eof spring, and it is the promise of eternal life.
